Welcome to the end of eras Ice has melted back to life Done my time and served my sentence Sunlight filtered through the window, the curtains not drawn tight enough to keep it out completely. It never had, and in fact, it was so common that Ciel didn't even stir as the light spilled over his face. Not at first anyway. Not until it suddenly clicked that it was far too harsh for the sun. The soft, purring voice was what finally brought him the rest of the way out of his slumber. Blue eyes flicked open sleepily, and he squinted slightly at the harsh light that assaulted his eyes. A groan left his lips, and Ciel pushed himself up into a sitting position to blink sleepily at his surroundings. They were familiar and yet foreign. He honestly didn’t know if he’d ever get used to waking up in this bizarre world they were in now. The only truly normal thing was the demon that stood over him, waiting ever patiently for him to fully wake up so they could begin their day. Ciel had no idea how Sebastian kept time in this world of constant night. It gave him a headache to even try, and he supposed now he relied on Sebastian more than ever. Ciel found himself being more and more anxious every time that he woke from his sleep. They had no way of getting home, no understanding of how they had gotten here and most importantly: no way to finish what he started. “Still here I see,” Ciel said simply once he was certain he wouldn’t slur his words with sleep. He kept hoping that one day he’d wake up from this strange dream. Running a hand over his face and up through his hair, he yawned and contemplated going back to sleep but he suspected Sebastian wouldn’t allow him to do that either. Pushing the blankets from him, he threw his legs over the edge of the bed before he sat up. “What is on the schedule today?” MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Sebastian firmly closed what would pass as the front door, the lock clicking into place with a flick of his wrist. The little humans that worked in the building kept making attempts to come into the Phantomhive makeshift home. While this wasn't a single small room with no room to walk, this was not a suitable place to raise a child. Children needed space to wander, to grow into. Having strangers trying to invade this small space did not help. No one had seen passed the marbling of the vestibule. No one knew what lay beyond the large mahogany door other than him. As befitting a Phantomhive Butler, each "visitor" was kindly turned away.
Now he could go back to his work and finish tidying the place up before Ciel was supposed to wake for the day. He checked the small pocket watch in his vest and tutted. That brief pause nearly put him behind. Not that anyone would notice. Ciel certainly wouldn't since he was having a harder time adjusting to the perpetual night of this strange place. He didn't know how they ended up here, but they were here none the less and he wasn't going to let his young master fall into bad habits just because of a shift in location.
He would acclimate to the constant darkness eventually, just like Sebastian had oh so long ago in his own demon realm. Coming to England had been a little bit of an adjustment for him, but he refused to let that be seen. Now he was back in something of his element and going to help Ciel acclimate. In fact, it was time for this child to get up. The demon wandered into Ciel's room, tugging the curtain over the floor to ceiling window open just enough to let the neon light filter in.
It wasn't long until Ciel actually woke up from the light hitting him just right. Sebastian didn't have to do anything to actually wake the boy so he couldn't be snapped at that he had interrupted a perfectly good sleep. Not that he would have cared as he had the power of time on his side. He smirked as he heard Ciel stir, watching him wake without a word. He waited for the earl to accept that it was time to be awake and want to mentally prepare himself for his day.
"First, is breakfast. I've prepared a full English for you," Sebastian started, having already stated that the choice in teas here would need to be cultivated over time. They weren't exactly what they were used to, and some of them weren't very good. He would have to make his own once he figured out exactly where to get everything. "Afterward you have several meetings for your day. The first will be with the casino manager over the casino's intake this week. After that, your accountant will be coming in to go over the books." Of course, part of going over the books would, in part, be seeing who had put themselves in debt and find out how best to extract their payment from each person. A small part of him enjoyed that particular part as he often was allowed off on his own to collect.
Knowing that Ciel wanted to get back to England, while he was berating the casino manager, the butler was going to wander out again, looking for more information on this "link" as he had heard it called. He had found little information on how people get here, or returned back home. That wasn't going to stop him though, so he was going to continue his search so they could return back to the manor. Once he had real information, he would bring it to Ciel's attention.

Welcome to the end of eras Ice has melted back to life Done my time and served my sentence Ciel rubbed at his face as Sebastian spoke and his nose scrunched slightly. While he never had anything to complain about Sebastian's cooking, the tea here left something to be desired. Even the food was slightly off from what he was used to but it was something he could easily overlook. The tea however, was a problem. He supposed he could supplement it for that strange fizzy drink they had here--soda was it?-- but something told him that it wouldn't be very good to drink with breakfast. "This should be quick," Ciel spoke, almost boredly. "I assume you will be absent for these?"It wasn't uncommon for Sebastian to disappear during these. Afterall, it was unlikely he would be in any danger during these meetings and even if things were to change, the demon would be back before any true harm could befall him. Not that Sebastian wouldn't get an earful for whatever damage he did take. Ciel raised his arms to allow Sebastian to pull his night shirt from him. The cool air brushed along his skin, pulling his thoughts briefly to the brand that forever marred him and his fingers twitched slightly with the subconscious urge to cover it. He immediately scowled at the weakness he presented in himself, letting out a huff. Once he was fully dressed, Ciel tilted his head slightly as the eye patch he wore was tied around his head and his hand reached up to press his fingers against it briefly. To be perfectly honest, he didn't know why he bothered with it. It was by far the lesser of the strange things that happened in this city. Habit he supposed. "Breakfast then?" Ciel spoke, slipping off the bed. He turned slightly to stare up at the demon. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

Sebastian gave a small nod as Ciel was nearly accurate in his question. "I will be away for the meeting with the manager, yes," He agreed. Finances were important, and knowing what was coming in was a necessity. However, he trusted the Ciel could handle that on his own. He had given a very hard, rather menacing look from behind Ciel upon their first meeting with him. Since then, the demon believed the man wouldn't harm his ward. If he did, terrible things would befall the man and he doubted that the manager would want that.
However, the accountant would be a meeting he wanted to be present for. He considered what the books would say as he slipped the nightshirt over Ciel's head and started dressing him for the day. He maintained Ciel's typical wardrobe, if a touch updated. They didn't have the typical frills that they had back home, or quite the proper frocks that they were accustomed to. A part of him wished he had known that this would be coming so he could be properly prepared. He didn't like the surprise and he despaired the fact that he couldn't have the right tea or clothes with them.
He knelt down and fastened Ciel's shoes. The look was complete and almost what he wanted. Nexus was not friendly to their style or tastes, but he was making due with what he could. He straightened Ciel's coat as he stood and rose himself. He offered a small bow to his small master. "Yes, my lord." He followed the child out as a fitting place for a butler. He only moved forward to pull out the chair at the table so the Phantomhive heir could sit and he moved off to fetch his breakfast.
Out of Ciel's sight, Sebastian sighed. There was more than just bad tea and poor clothing options. With them here and so very far away from England and Ciel's enemies, the opportunity to get revenge was gone. He would never get to fulfill his end of the deal and receive Ciel's soul in return. He controlled the disappointment and reentered the dining room with his cart. He presented the breakfast he prepared and removed the dome lid. He gave another bow and took a step back, checking his pocket watch. "The manager will arrive in thirty minutes exactly." He had better anyway. That had been the specified time and being a moment late would upset the schedule Sebastian had so carefully made.

Welcome to the end of eras Ice has melted back to life Done my time and served my sentence Having a demon at one's back was probably not most people's idea of comfort, but knowing that the shadow was always there was the one thing of comfort Ciel had at the moment. The child hesitated briefly once he left his chambers, a sound of annoyance leaving his lips. At his estate he knew every inch of it and could find his way in the dark, here however, he still was not used to it. It took him a moment to remember which way led to the dining room. Ciel was silent as Sebastian pulled out his chair, and he sat down, resting his chin in his hand as he set his elbow on the table. A sigh left his lips as he watched the demon leave the room. His expression didn't change when Sebastian returned and placed the food in front of him. He dropped his hand away from the table, picking up his fork to poke at his food disinterestingly. "Good. Hopefully it won't be long. He's dreadfully boring."Playing the game here was difficult. People were too scared to actively try to disobey and even if they did there was no real gain. Every move he made back home was to get him closer to the ones responsible for his humiliation and the death of his parents, but here? There was no point. "This whole place bores me. Nothing but common criminals...they are easily out maneuvered and out thought. None of them are worth my attention and yet I am forced to do so."Ciel made a noise letting his fork drop to his plate. Without the means for revenge what was left? Who was he? One blue eye flicked towards Sebastian. If Sebastian left what would he do? "Hurry back." Ciel ordered the demon, pushing away from the table to stand. He wiped his hands on the napkin before letting it drop to the table. "I'll take the meeting in the study."MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0
