From the moment you first saw the world, there was no tomorrow. Never ending darkness is all you have ever known... no Pokemon ever tried to believe there might be hope for you or for this dying world. As a small Treeko you tried to strike out on your own. Just live the only way that Pokemon could in the darkness - survive. But you soon found out that with all the other Pokemon doing the same thing it was impossible for you to make it through. A few weeks of surviving and you were attacked by a powerful Pokemon who quickly overwhelmed you, but you didn't put up much of a fight. There was no point as you were slowly rotting away anyway. Then there was a crack that caused the Pokemon to flee, but you couldn't see your savior. Whatever consciousness that was left slowly ebbing from your motionless body.[break][break]
Your eyes would flick open as you jumped to your feet, scanning your surroundings. Could you have been kidnapped by the ones who eradicated all resistance? Heavy breaths left your mouth as the door of the small house creaked open... to reveal a human female. Her eyes would widen when she saw you pinning yourself against the wall, only to laugh with a crystalline sound. It was something you had never heard before with the world as dark as it was and it confused you. This girl who had enough faith in her life to seem almost... happy. She would explain that she healed your wound and was prepared to keep you under her protection for as long as you might need. Against your better judgement, you accepted the offer riddled with the kindness you had been deprived of your entire life.[break][break]
Rather than a simple few days, you stayed with her for weeks which then turned into months. Between you was the one thing that no one seemed to had the the perpetual darkness - friendship. It was that which kept you moving forward and slowly against your better judgement, believing in the hope she would spurt. Things about the legendary 'sunrise' which existed once upon a time in the world before it all froze. About Time Gears, water and greenery. More importantly she would tell you about peace between Pokemon. A world which many believed was buried in the past.[break][break]
With your bond, you made a decision. It was time to stop hiding in the shadows of your world and try to reach that light you were told so much about. Within your mind a plan formed as the human girl - your partner - had a unique skill. Something she explained as a 'Dimensional Scream' allowing small glimpses into the past whenever there was something to do with the legendary Time Gears. If the two of you could return those Time Gears to Temporal Tower then perhaps... perhaps there was a chance for the world to return. There was a chance for 'tomorrow' to exist once again. Now Grovyle, you set out with your partner in search of any clues to do with the Time Gears. Soon enough, you were hunted by those who wished the world to remain the same as you knew they would. It simply drove the two of you forward with more determination than before.[break][break]
Hand in hand you would locate the Time Gears one by one, each time disappointed as they were nowhere to be seen. Destroyed along with time itself. Everything seemed hopeless, lost. You had nothing more to grasp onto as your hope for 'tomorrow' was ripped from between your fingers. Until you met Celebi. The mystical Pokemon offered to take your and your partner back in time to find the Time Gears, you thought it was impossible. No one offered anything in this world for free. Yet all it took was her explaining her hatred for this future for you to understand - you and your partner weren't the only ones who wished for hope. However there was one flaw in your plan that Celebi explained. In exchange for your success, all creatures who lived in the future - Pokemon and Human alike - would fade away into nothingness. In exchange for hope, you and your partner would cease to exist.[break][break]
One glance at your partner was all it took. In her eyes was that resolution that she already knew that the consequences would mean her existence would fade. You come to the resolution in that split second that you too were going to go on no matter the consequences. What other option was there? If you both turned back here then who would be willing to complete such a task? Who else knew where the Time Gears were hidden? No it had to be you and your partner. With Dusknoir on your tail, you had to make the leap quickly and with Celebei's cooperation the two of your leaped into the Passage of Time. Into the past.[break][break]
But something went wrong. Inside the Passage of Time there was too much turbulence, you couldn't keep a hold of your partner's hand. No matter how hard you tried to keep ahold of her hand, she slipped from your grasp and all you could do was watch as your only partner, ally and friend slipped away into the sea of light. You knew you had to remain strong as you tumbled through the end passage into the place known as the Eastern Forest, but it shocked you when you bent down to take a drink. There were tears in your eyes.[break][break]
Nothing like that mattered now, because you were in the past. Somewhere out there so was your partner and together, even apart, you would complete the mission. Find the Time Gears, get the to Temporal Tower and save the Future. Thus you set off on what was to be your long quest, settling on the Treeshroud Forest as your first stop. Just like your partner said, there was a Time Gear in the forest completely unguarded which worked in your best interest. It was an easy steal, but you had to watch time freeze around you. Something deep in your soul screamed for you to put the Gear back, instead of watching this happen. But you knew better. If you got all the Time Gears to Temporal Tower then time would restore itself, all this would be alive again. So you fled the Forest as quickly as possible, never looking back with a new found determination. It wouldn't take long for you to find a second Time Gear, but this time your refused to see the result of it's theft.[break][break]
Word reached your ear about an Exploration Guild's travel to a place known as Fogbound Lake. You know of the lake as you went there with your partner in the Future - there rested a Time Gear. It would be too risky to travel there while this Guild was exploring the area, so you wait. Get closer very slowly until you reach the Lake once they had returned. The Fog had lifted much to your surprise, which meant that someone had gone to the Lake before you. If they took the Time Gear then everything you had worked for, your entire reason for living was all over. That was the thought that spurred you on, forced you to move even faster. Upon arrival at the Lake, the Legendary Pokemon Groudon guarded it. Yet something was amiss because it was impossible for the real Groudon to be here as that Pokemon lived deep within the Earth. The only explanation you could come up with... was that it was an illusion created by the Guardian of the Time Gear. It came as no surprise to you how easily you defeated 'Groudon' and you moved quickly to the place where the Time Gear rested. Uxie was there, but weak because of a recent battle. You took the opportunity to overpower him and take the Time Gear. He had muttered something about the Pokemon who had arrived there before you, but you stated that you had heard nothing from them. After all, you already knew that the Time Gear was there.[break][break]
You would take that Time Gear, along with the one from Underground Lake. However when you attempted to take the Gear from the Crystal Lake, you would have to fight an Exploration Team of two along with Azelf. It was easy to succeed when they didn't understand what you were fighting for, nor would they ever need to. But as you reached out to take the Time Gear the lake would crystallize leaving you unable to take the Gear. Just as you questioned why, you turned to see your pursuer from the Future. Dusknoir was there to take you back to the Future and most likely execute you. But you couldn't let that happen, not yet. So you fled with him in hot pursuit.[break][break]
Alas you didn't make it far before he found and captured you. You supposed that was probably because you were exhausted after all, even you couldn't survive without rest and you had been on the move ever since arriving in the past. Dusknoir and his minions would bind you in ropes, parading you around the Treasure Town Square. They all saw you as an enemy, a criminal. Even though you knew they all trusted Dusknoir, you still tried to explain your actions. But nothing would get through the gags, even when someone picked up on it. You were pushed toward the Dimensional Portal but before they sent you to the Future, you took one last look at the vibrant world you had come to. That was what you were fighting for. Hope. But as soon as you arrived in the Future, you were knocked out from behind. At least you wouldn't have to see that darkness.[break][break]
Your eyes would flutter open, only to see that never-ending darkness you wished would end. Yes this was undoubtedly the future. There were roped binding you to a stone pillar, you knew where you were. Dusknoir was ready to have you executed in the stockade and you were fine with that because you still had hope. No matter what your partner would finish what you started. The world would be saved. With that in mind, you were ready to accept the fate you had here. Yet all that changed when you heard two voices on your left. Those same two explorers who had stood in your way where now in the Stockade with you, begging Dusknoir for mercy. In their eyes was fear, trust and anxiety... you sympathized with them. This world was one they shouldn't have seen and you wanted... you wanted to help them. If only for your own purposes. Perhaps they could aid your return to the past and finding of the Time Gears. But of course that would only happen if they would trust you. You knew that the minions would attack with their claws, providing the three of you and escape route but you needed the two to trust you. For a moment, you saw the fear in their eyes and they agreed. If only for their own safety, which you could understand. Better listening and not trusting you then dying here. You lead them out of the trap and outside of the Prison.[break][break]
The two seemed shocked at the state of the planet, but you didn't care. This was the future you were fighting to stop and if they didn't understand then it wasn't your problem. You were convinced to tell your story, of course they didn't believe you. Without trust you couldn't continue on as a group and thus you split from them. As you traveled, you sped up many times. The distance between you and Dusknoir needed to increase further and yet... you thought about those two. You worried for them. It was that same worry that got you trapped in a Pokemon's ambush. Whatever it's power was, it crept in through your nose and pinned you to the ground. There was no way out and you would get caught again. This time there would be no escaping your death. It was those two who helped you. They defeated the Pokemon named Spiritomb and set you free, even saying they were willing to trust you. In truth this touched your heart because since the loss of your partner, no one had trusted you. Your plan was now to take them to see Celebi.[break][break]
Together the three of you fought through many places and Pokemon in order to finally find Celebi. When you did... there was recognition in the Pokemon's eyes. Almost as though Celebi knew the Pokemon standing behind you. In fact she very nearly revealed it before saying if you couldn't figure it out then she wouldn't say a word. Annoying as it was, you could understand why. The three of you would travel toward the Passage of Time and Celebi would confirm that she still supported your decision to change the past. When the Passage came into view your hope began to return... until Dusknoir ambushed your group. At first you thought that together you could take Dusknoir down, but he wasn't alone. The one Pokemon you always feared the most had come to help him - there was no way to defeat Primal Dialga. When you said that your hope still lived, he laughed. But you knew that your partner would succeed where you had failed. That was the one thing that kept you alive. Your heart shattered when Dusknoir revealed that the Pokemon standing behind you whom you had fought so many times was in fact the same human girl that you put your faith in. You had begun to lose hope when one of the explorers spoke up, telling you to keep moving forward. Even as you explained how hopeless everything was, that one Pokemon continued to find a solution, going so far as to get Celebi to use it's power to transport them closer to the Passage. When you jumped into the Passage, your last thought was that you underestimated that Pokemon.[break][break]
Now back in the Past, the explorer and your partner decided to trust you. Even going as far as to invite you into their new base of operations. They forced you to tell what the next move was, but you had a feeling they already knew. You were going to once again collect the Time Gears and take them to Temporal Tower. But for now all three of you needed rest, and rest you did. When you woke up, the explorer was missing so you left Sharpedo Bluff to search. It turned out that they were looking out at the ocean, thinking about the future. Your respect for the explorer grew, just as you felt warmth on your back. The explorer pointed as you whipped around to gaze upon the sunrise. It filled your body with a warm sensation that always lacked in the Future. During your time here you'd even given a name for this feeling - it was a branch of hope. This world is what taught you to believe in changing futures. It was this world that got you to believe.[break][break]
Soon your partner would join you and you set off to recover the Treeshroud Time Gear once again. Once successful and discovering that Temporal Tower was indeed collapsing, you asked the two to search for the Hidden Land while you went out to find the remaining Time Gears. With their agreement you would begin the long trek once again to recover Gears, this time with faith that you would succeed. And Succeed you did! Once they were all recovered you met Wigglyfuff the Guildmaster on your way back to Treasure Town and he led you to the place known as Brine Cave. You couldn't seem to argue with him as the two of you traversed the cave, but you understood what was going on when you reached the end. The path to the Hidden Land was there... and the explorer had the evidence required to open a path. Inside your heart was finally so full of hope - this was going to work. You were going to succeed![break][break]
But everything came crashing down when you realized that Dusknoir was waiting for you at the Rainbow Stoneship. Everything was a setup and you had to fight in order to make sure that your partner and the explorer would make it to Temporal Tower. You told the explorer to go and activate the Stoneship while you and your partner fought Dusknoir. But what you didn't say was that you were going to drag Dusknoir back into the Future in order to buy them more time. With one final look at your partner, your heart would fill with sadness and the pain of parting. But you had one final thing to say.[break][break]
"Parting is such sweet sorrow. I wish you luck."[break][break]
You know that your partner knew what you meant. The friendship that the two of you once shared was over, now the most important Pokemon to your partner was the explorer that she shared so many hardships with. When the succeed all Pokemon of the future would fade away and you knew that. But you persevered. In the future you would team up with Dusknoir and Celebi in order to fight Primal Dialga, ultimately failing. But as you felt yourself fade into nothingness as your world changed, you felt a warmth grace your skin. Your eyes would widen as you turn to see the sun rise over the horizon.[break][break]
A tear would fall down your face, but you smiled.
While he might be unable to hold or use human weapons, Grovyle's a Pokemon. He doesn't need those in the first place. Although he can only have four moves/attacks at one time, there is the possibility of gaining stronger ones as play progresses. As a grass type Pokemon he's weak to fire (in general) and can generally be taken out with a few of those elemental attacks. Water and Electricity not so much. He has a high resistance to both of these elements and can withstand many attacks from the both. Ice type attacks either magic or otherwise also have a damaging effect. However he can actually withstand naturally occurring ice or snow environments.[break][break]
Move-wise he has access to Leaf Blade, Dig, Quick Attack and Bullet Seed. Each one he has used on several occasions with a variety of uses. For example, not only can dig be used as an attack but also an evasion technique. His Leaf Blade attack is generally used as a main attack form as (just like state previously) he cannot wield human weapons. This attack is sharp enough to cut through wood and cannot be dulled by metal weapons. Quick Attack can be used for faster mobility while bullet seed is his projectile attack.[break][break]
As a Pokemon, Grovyle doesn't age in the same way that humans do. In fact there's no real way to gauge a Pokemon's age or rate of growth by anything other than evolution. By these standards, Grovyle is a juvenile but beyond that nothing else is known. However there is also the potential for him to live longer then humans due to the change in biological aging process. Another thing to note is that Grovyle can speak/read ancient Pokemon Runes. He has studied this language to aid him on his mission, even though it's almost useless now. However he does have an interest in learning all kind of other languages now that he's in this world.
