History[break]
Keith's early life is vague, even to him. He has so many questions, and very few answers. Neither of his parents are in his life any longer, having been referred to as an orphan. He has Galra blood, which seems to be dominant in every way other than his appearance, as he can access Galra tech without any sort of issues. He doesn't know much if anything about his mother, but apparently she was at least part Galra, as his knife came from her.
[break][break]
He joined the Garrison, and he was the top pilot in his class. During this time he became close with Shiro, considering him practically family. He took it very poorly when Shiro went missing on his mission. He got himself kicked out of the Garrison for disciplinary issues, and found his way back to his home in the desert. During this time he spent much of his life alone, only interacting with people during supply runs, but even that was rare. He tracked down an odd energy, and while he didn't know at the time, he was drawn out to the blue lion.
[break][break]
When Shiro crash landed back to earth, he was quick to investigate, quick to rescue his friend, and by proxy the rest of the future paladins. He's critical of the others, especially Lance, but he'll do whatever is necessary to save Shiro.
[break][break]
He has a hard time integrating with the others, Lance especially. Their personalities seem to clash the most, and he has a hard time dealing with the kind of person the Blue paladin is. His clashing with Lance is eased some when he is forced to protect the Blue paladin, who ends up protecting him as well. In his own words "We had a bonding moment, I cradled you in my arms!" Though his feelings towards the Blue paladin are still conflicted, but it's growing to be for entirely different reasons.
[break][break]
He has a very strong bond with Red, as shown by the lion responding his distress time and time again, at distances far further than even Allura believed their bonds with the lions to be able to traverse. Even Zarkon needs the assistance of his mages to sense the lion from that far. Keith has even been shown to be able to Pilot the Black lion as well, even if it was only to save Shiro. He resents a little that Shiro wants him to lead Voltron in his absense, or at least that Shiro kept bringing it up. He hated thinking about a future where Shiro wasn't part of their team. Of a future where he was dead.
[break][break]
As far as conflicted feelings go, Shiro is the source of many of them. he thinks of him as family, of course, but he has a hard time admitting to even himself that brotherly probably isn't quite the term he would use. Though he could almost admit to himself Shiro isn't the only teammate he has less than platonic leanings toward. It's a complicated swirl in his mind, as he doesn't know how to properly deal with his shit. Mostly it comes out in anger and frustration, almost all directed at Lance. At least there he has a solid excuse of a stupid rivalry he hadn't even realized they'd had until Lance brought it up.
[break][break]
He's desperate to know more about his heritage, though he doesn't know where to start. He'd fought many blade members just to try and get a scrap of information, though his stubbornness is nearly his undoing. When it comes down to it, he will put the safety of Shiro, and the universe, above his own desires. Even if he tries to wiggle his way around it as much as he can.
[break][break]
He's not quite sure how he came to be here exactly but wormholes can't always be predicted. This universe is in danger and while it's not the same universe he was in, he's still a paladin of Voltron. He's dedicated to protecting the Universe. It wasn't necessarily specific to the one he lived in. Though he was terrified about what happened to Shiro, and the others, he is doing his best to keep a level head.
Personality[break]
Keith is...complicated to say the least. He's standoffish and down right hostile at times, but he cares deeply for the other paladins, think of them as family. It can be difficult for him to express those feelings, but he's working on coming out of his shell, even if slowly. His most notably personality trait would immediately be his hot-hotheadedness. He has a quick temper, and the tendency to blow up at things quickly. He trusts his gut, and can be rash at times, but he's working on it. He has the ability of reigning it in and taking his time to breathe and let it go when the situation calls for him to be less rapidfire.
[break][break]
The red paladin has spent much of his lifetime alone. Secluded in the dessert, and left to his own devices. He's gotten used to the solidarity. So much that he sometimes doesn't know how to deal with other people. In short? He has some deep seeded abandonment issues. He's terrified he's going to lose his family, again. He has every single time he's gotten close to anyone in the past. Shiro twice over now. He's hesitant to really open up to anyone, because he knows how badly it hurts when he's alone again.
[break][break]
Despite all the heaviness, he has a lighter side. Once you get past his outer shell he is much softer. He has a fairly witty sense of humor, and he's loyal almost to a fault. He will fight to protect those he thinks of as family to the ends of his ability, no matter if that ends up getting him injured or worse. He's quick to put himself in the line of fire to help his friends.
[break][break][break][break]
Weapons/Abilities[break]
Keith is highly skilled in hand to hand, and what he doesn't have in pure muscle he makes up for with quick reflexes and impressive stamina. He's the fastest and most agile of the paladins, both in and out of their lions. He prefers close combat to long range combat and isn't often seen wielding guns or blasters.
[break][break]
His bayard forms a sword and shield, which he uses deftly, which makes sense as blades are his preferred weapon. He also carries a ceremonial Galra dagger, and even sleeps with the blade. Now that it is unlocked, it elongates to a full blade when he wields it.
[break][break]
He's the best pilot out of the group, in most smaller air crafts, easily predicting the best routes and how to get exactly where he needs to be. The Red Lion is his friend and companion, but at the end of the day she is still a robotic lion. The fastest of all of them, in fact. Easily the most loyal if her range to be able to find him was anything to go by. Though her speed and lightness leaves her prone to heavy attacks from time to time.
