History[break]
Skating has been Viktor's life from the time he could remember. The first time he skated he took to it like a fish to water. It was invigorating, inspiring, and most of all fun. After all, he'd only been a child then. Just recently able to walk without fear of him toppling over at various points in time. After that it was history. He begged and begged and begged until his parents signed him up for classes at the local rink. He was a quick learner, but also very determined. It didn't always come naturally, but he put in the work until it did. He was driven, he wouldn't give up. His coach even thought he was good enough to compete. So he signed up for a local competition. It only spiraled from there.
[break][break]
He loved competitions, loved the thrill of being in front of so many people. Loved the sport. Though he'd admit to being a little lonely at times. After all most of his friends lived throughout the world and he'd only see them in competitions. Soon enough he was Russia's darling so it didn't matter. He did schooling by correspondence, which was better in the long run. He never did have anything in common with the students his age. Any time they'd want to hang out or have sleepovers or the usual childhood things, Viktor wanted to be training on the ice. Jumps he should be landing, interviews he needed to be doing. Making nice with sponsors so that he could afford his new skates, new costumes. Not to mention he'd get picked on for his long hair.
[break][break]
Still, he got by. He went from Russia's darling to Russia's hero. The most decorated men's singles figure skater in History. An Olympian. And then he met Yuuri Katsuki. His world faded into focus and turned upside down all at once. It was stupid, to fall for someone when they were so incredibly drunk. But he hadn't expected Yuuri to forget completely. So when he flew out to Japan to see him, he didn't expect to be met with someone so different, yet still so beautiful and inspiring.
[break][break]
He became a coach. Yuuri's coach, and he was tough on him. More than maybe he needed to be at times, and he fumbled a lot in his new position but it was all worth it in the end. Quickly they went from coach and pupil, to something of boyfriends, to engaged. He's insistent on the engagement, even if Yuuri tries to claim their rings were merely good luck charms in front of their friends. There was no two ways about it, that night was the best proposal he was ever going to get.
[break][break]
Though it's the end of the season that hits him hard. Yuuri pulling away from him, for reasons he still can't quite understand will never sit well with him, but he tries to understand. He's never had the crushing sort of anxiety that Yuuri experiences. Though he's known other things. His kind of depression is the kind that he avoids by filling his life with things that don't matter until he's too busy to think about anything other than his career and sometimes sleep. Yuuri's is worse, he thinks. A ball of anxiety and his lack of self-worth drive him to places in his mind Viktor would never find in his own. He helps where he can, he wants to be better at helping him through his bad patched but he knows it's a matter of time and experience. They are both learning when it comes to certain things. He's learning to have friends. Because as many people as he'd known through his whole life, Chris was the closest thing he's ever had to friends. And now he has a family. Albeit a strange one spread across the world. And he's happy.
[break][break]
Or he was. Until he wakes up in Kindra alone. Again. It's a bitter sort of loneliness that sets in after that. He's not oceans away from his lover, that he can handle even if he doesn't like when they are competing in opposing countries. He's worlds away and he doesn't know if he will be able to make it back. He doesn't know what he's going to do without the best thing that has ever happened to him. But here he is. Once again, just him and his loyal Makkachin.
Personality[break]
Viktor is what you would call.....Extra. In short he's not so sure how normal people are supposed to be because he's lived his life wrapped up in a facade of smiles, perfectly placed winks. He's molded himself to be a man straight out of a cologne commercial and it works. People don't pry too deep and they definitely can't hurt him, because they don't know him. He's become this. It fades around certain people. Evolves around others. His real smile is something bright and excitable.
[break][break]
He's a large puppy just waiting for something to come along to catch his excitement. He wants to spoil the people he cares about. He wants to be the best. He wants to make his audience feel excited, but it's hard to do when he's lost the excitement for the things he's loved, until he finds a new one. But this love isn't fleeting, he can feel it settling in his heart and taking root.
[break][break]
He can be cold, and mean and ruthless. It's an encouraging sort of no nonsense authority when it comes to coaching. Run the jumps again you've got this, but you screwed up. I believe in you, but you've done better. You can do this, but you have to be at your best. But it's the other one. The cold kind of heartless rage when it comes to people hurting the things he loves. It comes out so very, very rarely but it's a storm cloud. It settles over him and everything his wrath deems to be a threat and he will destroy what's in his wake if it doesn't back down. But it comes out so infrequently that most people do not even know it's there, and if they do they quickly forget about it.

Abilities[break]
Viktor has very few actual life skills. He's a figure skater, he's been doing this since he was a child. He's never had a "real" job. But he is an athlete. Not to mention he has an impeccable amount of personal style. His body is a fine tuned instrument but he's getting old. Especially in his sport, where one bad injury could mean he's off the ice forever. Quite a few professionals retire well before he did. It's rare to see a figure skater his age. Twenty two is the average, and he's well above that now, but he's taken care of his body. He only pushes as far as his body can handle, he's listened to every single medical professional, and has kept himself on a strict diet since he was a teenager. He has an incredible amount of determination and will, and that's what's gotten him this far. Even if when he indulges it's a little too much. Like with alcohol but then, that's neither here nor there. He knows he's reaching the end of his life span when it comes to being an athlete, but fear is what's kept him in it. What else would he do if not for skating?
[break][break]
He's done well as a coach so far, but he wants to be better. For himself and for Yuuri. He's a good teacher, even if he's still working on his patience.
