Axel

PERSONALITY
Axel is a very complex individual. He is seen as something of a hot head, allowing himself to fly into short rages if angered. It's not all that usual for him to do such a thing, particularly recently, but he had once thought it a good thing to play up being that he was the master of fire. He is also a very flippant, and joking person. He comes off as lazy and somewhat uncaring, but all this is mostly just a persona he had created in the Organization to be underestimated. It was partially built on a few qualities the younger version of himself already had, and traits he thought would make him seem more unassuming and less of a concern to the rest.

He is actually a very intelligent person. Even as a teen he was able to come up with complex plans to try and sneak into the castle, or cause some other bit of harmless mischief. As a Nobody, he used his intelligence to hide his true intentions and always find a way to keep his butt out of the metaphorical fire. He embraced some of his ability to not feel so that he didn't feel bad for otherwise horrible tasks he carried out both of his own accord and at the behest of the Organization. As with his ability to fly under the radar, he has developed the remarkable ability to hide even the darkest thoughts from everyone else and himself. He has no intention of dredging up the awful things he has done and doesn't really care to try to make peace with it. He is calculating and determined to accomplish goals that he sets himself, the next being a Keyblade Master.

Beyond that, for as cold as he can seem, he has always been a very kind and caring person. He is fiercely loyal. As a teenager, he wanted to be friends with everyone, willingly and eagerly including strangers in his day. He considered Isa a brother then, maintaining that strong feeling for the other boy even as they became Nobodies. It faded over time as their webs weaved ever deeper, but he grew very attached to Roxas, and for a short while the puppet Xion. He went to every length to try and find his friend again up to the point of giving himself up for Sora as if he was sure that Roxas would know and approve.

HISTORY
Lea was born and raised in Radiant Garden before darkness fell. He was carefree and very friendly with anyone that would let him. He was best friends with Isa and they caused all manner of mischief. Their favorite activity was trying to break into the castle. They briefly crossed paths with Ventus as he passed through Radiant Garden in his search for his friends. He was one of the victims consumed when the world was swallowed by the Heartless.

He re-emerged as Axel, a taller, more adult version of himself with full command over fire. It offered him the name The Flurry of Dancing Flames in Organization XIII of which he was eighth in line after Saix, formerly Isa. For years he created a persona of a hot headed prankster, becoming "friends" with Demyx and Larxene. In the shadows, he moved behind the scenes to try and manipulate those around him with Saix as his only true ally. The relationship grew more strained, but it wasn't until Roxas, Sora's Nobody, joined as the thirteenth member that things really went south.

Axel became the guardian and mentor of the Key of Destiny and grew very close to the short Nobody. During this time, a few other major events happened in Axel's non-existence. He was asked to weed out the traitors in the Organization in Castle Oblivion. He "removed" Vexen to gain the trust of Marluxia and Larxene, leaving him the chance to manipulate Sora into ending them as well. He also used the Riku Replica to kill Zexion because he had found out too much of Axel's own plans. He returns to the Castle That Never Was to resume his place of watching over Roxas and now Xion whom he considered a friend as well. This was the last straw, and he lost Saix as an ally.

As the Keyblade wielders of the Organization rebelled, he was tasked with bringing them in or destroying them. Xion was the first, ultimately sacrificing herself for Roxas and the memory of her was lost. Roxas also left despite Axel trying to convince him otherwise and he was sent to Digital Twilight Town to either bring him home, or take him out. He was unable to do either and lost Roxas to his decision to merge with Sora and wake him up. He then had to be on the run from the Organization as he helped and guided Sora until he was near the Castle That Never Was in hopes of seeing Roxas again. He had been injured by the last time he saw Sora, seeing his mistake in kidnapping Kairi and suffering at the hands of Saix in his attempt to free her. What energy he had left after that was put into clearing the way of Dusks for Sora and opening a corridor to the castle so that he might stop Xemnas and those that remained.

PRIMARY WEAPON: Eternal Flames - Twin chakrams. They can conduct fire at his command which can make the eight spikes even more dangerous.
