•• amaterasu, now is the time
[break][break]It was cold. The void felt as though the core of her being had been grasped firmly within icy claws. Timeless, drifting. How many years had passed since her eyes fell weary from the poison inhibiting her body. That tale of a life long passed her now was one of great sorrow; and nothing of it she could remember. When the ethereal flames of a tree sprite so desperate for her help cradled her soul, igniting what consciousness remained; those fragile memories shattered in the wake of a long awaited rebirth. Time... time for what? The lethargy was like nothing she'd ever experienced before. Or was it? She couldn't remember. Her limbs like led, her eyes only wished they could tear in the absence of ducts when a yawn escaped her. By the sun, she was so inexplicably tired that the roaring winds and ominous miasma were paltry in the face of how much she just wanted a nap.
[break][break]
•• we have never needed your power more
[break][break]She seemed a passive soul, perhaps too lackadaisical in the face of what destruction the world has been submitted though. Oh she was angry, the sight of the precious world she felt obligated to protect in such a state of discord sent her hackles rising. But she could fix it! It's what she did best, right? Or was it? How did she act before this? Then again it didn't really matter. Barely awake for three minutes she she was off to save her previous Nippon. Yet the sense of fragility was reluctant to leave her. Limbs like lead. Had she always been this weak? It hurt to be forgotten, Amaterasu was no exception to this feeling. But in the face of one-hundred years of absence what could she expect. Nevertheless, she wouldn't be of any help to the mortal realm being as weak as she was.

•• shine your divine light upon this broken and polluted world
[break][break]Demons upon demons. Curses upon curses. The taint ran much further than she'd previously thought. The serpent that haunted her dreams against the setting of a floating isle and a sea of stars seemed to be only a footnote in this elaborate scheme; one that sought to envelope the world in a bleak sense of hopelessness. Her divine existence could not withstand the blight of a cursed zone yet the experiences in Sei-an city gave the goddess enough insight to imagine what mortals were subjected to under such demonic influence. One that she was effectively combating. Techniques were regained, new skills mastered. Whatever manner of being this road was taking her toward the sun would face it with fang, flame and brush.

•• and let your heavenly rays become our hope
[break][break]Memories trickled back to her every now and then. Shattered fragments came together piece by piece. Amaterasu had been exposed to so many trials and tribulations over the months in her travels and the struggles experienced would always bring about a sense of déjà vu. Him. Her. Father. One and the same yet completely different. Faced with a life she led in the past and even in her standing so blinded by such a godly light. Amaterasu almost felt inadequate when faced with him. Her. Father. One and the same yet different. Shiranui was an unstoppable force so readily willing to sacrifice everything that Amaterasu's heart wept at the sight of his struggling, bleeding body limping back toward a final battle she couldn't recall.

•• as you guide us all
Not even a multilayered coat of fur could have prepared her for the icy onslaught of the northern lands. But all paths lead somewhere and this seemed to be her final destination. Their hard work would pay off. The eclipse was encroaching and her power was being sapped once again. Twin demons be damned, she wouldn't call it quits when they'd come this close to ending this corruption and healing the world. It was a horrific machination, and what's worse, they used her kin to enact such a foul construct. Now Amaterasu loved games, but slot machines were a hellish creations and one thing she felt an intense dislike towards; for no certain reason she could pinpoint. Her stance halted, brush-tipped tail inked and ready. What had started as a fast approach was sent awry by a shift in the air. The act of regaining her final technique left unfulfilled, and heavy snowfall filling the prints where a white wolf once stood.

•• origin of all that is good
[break][break]Existence is a fragile balance. Although considered a deity, Amaterasu is not above this law and rather strives to maintain this balance. Over the years spent in slumber her powers have greatly diminished and even during her venture she's no where near as powerful as she once was. The Celestial Brush which manifests as her tail allows her some influence over the natural world, but not enough to permanently augment it to her liking unless she aims to restore damaged objects. What used to be possible with just a flick of her brush takes more than just a supply of ink; it depletes her stamina. With her inability to regain her final brush technique the full power of the brush can't be recognized, although she's managed to regain all but her blizzard skills the cost of several at a time can be taxing on her strength.

Even as a wolf she possesses an unusual but effective style of combat. The bottomless pits of her Astral Pouch store several divine weapons she can use in the form of reflectors, rosaries and glaives that act as either main or sub weapons depending on her preference. Over the course of her travels Ammy's also managed to get her paws on some nifty holy artifacts to make her trials easier to overcome. Namely the Fire and Water Tablets; the later granting her the power to walk on the water's surface and avoid baths while the former grants her an incredible resistance to heat.

•• and mother to us all
[break][break]
To the non-believer or those lacking a certain sense of awareness Ammy appears a normal white wolf, bordering on dog due to her chipper mannerisms. By all accounts she acts as the later albeit with a far greater sense of intelligence. Her attitude toward life is carefree and seemingly naive but that's not the case. Though it acts as a convincing cover to avert suspicion if needed. In stark comparison to Shiranui, Amaterasu is not nearly as altruistic and does display episodes of greed and at times foolishness. Though a goddess and ever eager to help people, she relishes in the praise she received for her actions and might be more akin to a rebellious teenager than an immortal sun deity.
[break][break]
With the canine body comes some attributes she's falls prey to. Rather willingly too. She's susceptible to offers of food and scratches behind the ear and possesses an almost childlike level of trust at times along with a low attention span wherein she takes to napping sporadically; even when someone is mid sentence. Can be quite 'outspoken' in a sense of the word. Amaterasu isn't one to hide her opinions from others and her blunt mannerisms tend to demonstrate her thoughts and feelings toward certain things. Ironically, she herself is offended quite easily and takes personal offence to any slight against her. What a hypocrite.
