The purpose of this thread is to answer any questions that may have not been answered within the Rules about characters that are able to be applied. These are either questions that we have thought of that are too specific for the Rules page, or questions that have been asked of us multiple times that we have a set answer to. Please note that some of these questions are more specific while others are not. You could think of this as "character questions we have either asked ourselves or we have already answered in the thread at one point".

Yes, you may! Just keep in mind that the character is going to be kept in generally PG-13 situations. As a result, while you may offhandedly reference their M-rated origins, be sure to not to go into too many details about it when threading with that character.

It depends on if that character has complexity in character that would justify playing it on this site and whether not that character could logically fit into the setting. Spongebob and his cast are sea creatures, and thus would not be able to live on land with others within Kindra, and they, therefore, do not fit the setting. This requires a bit of proper judgment, but if you have any specific characters you would like to ask about, feel free to within the thread.

This actually depends on the fandom and the characters in question that you want to play. Ordinarily, in most cases, the character limit is two, and these factors must be true of the characters you're taking:
[break]▶ They do not interact often in canon, if at all.
[break]▶ They are not both major characters.
[break]▶ The fandom they come from is not that limited in characters.
[break]For bigger fandoms, such as Fire Emblem or Final Fantasy, you are able to take more characters than that so long as the above still applies.

Pick one and stick to it. This applies to characters such as Robin and Corrin from Fire Emblem. You may make them either gender option, but you must pick only one gender option. (Unless you come up with some fancy headcanon that can still work in canon or something, but even then you're picking the appearance of one of the gender options, at least.)

For pronouns, yes. For everything else, no. If your character is originally in a heterosexual relationship in canon, it's no big deal if you want to ship them with the same gender here on Kindra. Also, we are not opposed to trans headcanons as long as they are not outright disproven by canon. This will be a very case by case basis.

[break]
No. They must be separate applications. Yes, Midna talks for wolf Link in Twilight Princess, but Link is still his own separate character who has personality and thus, can be applied for.
[break][break][break]
[break]
No. Amaterasu is able to communicate and act separately from Issun, and vice versa.

It depends on what is meant by "alternate versions". For alternate writings of the same character, no; one must be picked and that's that. For alternate characters that may have similar origins, it depends on if the character is differentiated enough from the other one and the alternate version has enough of a presence to justify applying for it separately. Amaterasu and Shiranui, for example, can be applied separately, as Ōkamiden denotes them as separate characters despite initially having been "the same" by technicality, not to mention different enough mannerisms to justify them existing at the same time. Riku and Data Riku, on the other hand, cannot be applied separately as Data Riku does not have enough of a presence. (Replica Riku, on the other hand, can as he is his own distinct character.)
