Burnin' Like a Flame something I can't tame Don't wanna take it slow now, you strip my gravity Lance was beautiful. There really weren't two ways about it. Not in the same way, maybe, as Shiro who honestly always looked like he was some sort of displaced underwear model, but that didn't make it any less true. He was all long limbs and dark skin. Sunshine personified, hard to look at for long periods of time, especially when he smiled. It made his heart flip and his stomach flutter and he was really worried it was starting to become bad for his health. And he's just found him again. It effected him even more knowing he was at least part of the reason for that smile. It was a breathless sort of floating feeling and he wasn't even near the water and he felt like he might drown."I didn't..." he was suddenly a little embarrassed about all the things he had collected for his friends. Whether it was random gift shop purchases, or things he made with his own two hands. He hadn't thought of it as a big deal at the time. his way of reminding himself that he was going to find them again. His way of showing them he had been thinking about them, even if he was going to be withdrawn for some period of time. He knew it was inevitable the moment he stepped foot on Tuuleen. "want anyone to think I didn't care about them. You know, if I was different when I got back." He mumbled staring down at the sand with unwavering devotion.Or he did, at least, until Lance stopped half way from hugging him. "You can still touch me. It's not..." he huffed, he didn't understand why it wasn't clear, why he had to explain this but he would. "At that gift shop, it was because you'd had me in a hold that left me more or less defenseless. The loss of control freaked me out. As long as i'm still on the ground with the use of my arms...it's fine." He offered with a shrug. So long as it wasn't something that pinned him down, or kept him tight he wouldn't freak out. He hoped. He hadn't noticed Lance starting to strip right away but confusion passed over him like a wave until Lance made his way to the water. He felt his mouth go dry when Lance's shirt came off, and he didn't pay attention to much else for a few moments. It wasn't exactly the first time he'd seen Lance topless but even still. When Lance invited him in, dread was quick to replace the almost pleasant bubbly feeling. The idea of saltwater in his side made his head spin a little, no matter how inviting the waves really did look. "You have fun Lance, I'm going to go ahead and pass." He told the other. If he hadn't thought to school his tone into something neutral it would probably have been mopey. Still, he did toe off his shoes so that he could come closer to the water's edge and stick his feet in. It helped ease the general aches and soreness from his shitty existence on Tuuleen, that was for sure. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

from here the stars are far away so we can just let go and let day fade into night Warm waves lapped around his skin and brought him closer to home. With Keith here, he hated to admit, but it made the sensation that much more powerful. The mullet-headed dork had quite a way of bringing comfort wherever he went, though the Blue Paladin had absolutely no way of explaining it in the slightest. Sometimes, it was the exact opposite and the two wound up getting on each others nerves more than anything, but then there were times like this. Times where they truly got along and made each other forget their ailments and shadowed the notion they both had in common: they didn't quite belong just about anywhere. Lance frowned when he was denied a swimming buddy, but there were ways of convincing someone to hop into the water, whether they were into the idea or not. Keith always reminded him of nothing more than a grumpy kitten when he denied things in that manner, trying to sound as though he were indifferent. It always caught the taller male's attention and amused him, to say the least. " We'll see about that." A mischievous smirk grew quickly upon his lips as he dipped his head under the water. Lance resurfaced in a few seconds, only to spit a mouthful of water up at the boy on the ledge of Oasis, getting his shirt wet. Before he could deal with the aftermath, the pilot slipped under the water once more, this time swimming a bit closer to when he were to poke his head back up, he would be right below Keith's feet. As he did so, he used his arms to then bring up a large helping of the ocean to grace Keith's entire body. At least his long arms would be good for bringing destruction in this regard. " Now you're used to it!" Lance beamed triumphantly, not quite knowing the true "destruction" he'd actually brought upon he poor Paladin. [googlefont=Oswald]

Burnin' Like a Flame something I can't tame Don't wanna take it slow now, you strip my gravity The statement was suspicious but not outright alarming. He'd settled into doodling in the damp sand, a small smile playing on his lips as he watched Lance. A fish to water, all things considered. He was glad to see his friend so happy, excited and content. Though he was actively ignoring how it made his heart beat, and took his breath away. Those things could be pushed aside, ruining what they were working towards just because he was stupidly attracted to Lance was foolish and selfish.
He was drawn out of his thoughts in an instant. He'd not noticed Lance swimming up to him, but he did notice the hands around his ankles, only it was too late for him to react. Quickly enough he was pulled under, the surface of the water. It was only a few seconds between being pulled under and him shooting out, but it felt longer. The burning honestly was the first thing he noticed, even before the soaked feeling.
Curses were pouring out of his mouth as he pushed himself onto his knees, bracing himself with one hand, his free hand going to press over his injured side. "Fucking hell Lance." He scolded, though the sound was strained and breathless. The burning didn't stop, his shirt being soaked through with saltwater probably wasn't helping. He managed to crawl back out, reminiscent of an angry cat, shoulders hunched and on guard before planting himself firmly back on the sand.
Sitting up was fine, and it didn't feel like he tore anything but shit if it didn't hurt. He tore his shirt off, after weighing the pros and cons of leaving it, bending to get a good look at the wound. It wasn't any angrier-looking than it had been before but salt in a wound was never fun. At least it was probably clean. The gash was long, starting at his left hip and wrapping up and around towards his back, ending at just under his shoulder blade on the same side. Clearly a swipe just caught him a little too close. The edges showed clear signs of healing, though the edges were a little red, and clearly irritated, it didn't show any signs of infection, though the scab was rather ugly.
Various scars graced the rest of his skin, the deep one on his shoulder from his trials being the most prominent, but most of the others were new. Coming only from his time in Tuuleen. Some clearly nature and animal induced, but a few too clean for that. Knife wounds and other nicks from scuffles with the locals. Though all but his left side were all in various stages of fading. He knew his shoulder was going to be more or less permanent, the scar tissue thick and raised, but most of the others were merely cosmetic. They'd fade in time, leaving only barely noticeable marks. He didn't mind the scars, but the injuries he'd received were different.
Uselessly he tried wiping away some of the angry saltwater, but as his hands were just as wet, it didn't help at all, not that it would have made much of a difference anyways. "You know I don't usually make decisions just to spoil your fun." He grumbled, glaring at his wound rather than looking up at Lance. He hadn't wanted him to know about it, but it was moot at this point. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

from here the stars are far away so we can just let go and let day fade into night Somewhere in that brain of his was a tiny voice that told him what he'd just done probably hadn't been a good idea, but Lance had a bad habit of losing himself and letting that voice fade into the darker corners of his thoughts. More times than not, he had to deal with the aftermath of that carelessness, and this was simply a prime example. Keith's swears hit his ears and at first he laughed, proud of himself. Watching the Paladin climb back up onto the ledge and rip the clothing off of his figure, his stomach cramped, expression turning to that of concern. " Yo- Keith -" He choked out the words, his lean body following the suite of the injured boy, climbing out and kneeling on his knees to examine the wound he hadn't known existed. " Aw - dude - I didn't know, I-" He tripped over his words and quickly shook his head, little droplets of water falling from the chestnut brown strands. He clenched his jaw tightly out of nervousness and regret, wishing to every star in the galaxy that he hadn't done that. He never liked hurting people, especially those that he was close to. Lance might talk big, but when it came right down to it, causing harm to others was something he truly despised doing. Even if it was the Galra - it still never made him feel good. It was then that his eyes noticed all of the other scars that adorned Keith's skin, and that concern quickly turned to flat-out worry. " You... You're hurt. C'mon." He suddenly announced, grabbing his shirt and socks, moving into a sitting position so he could slip his shoes on. When he got to his feet, he threw his shirt over his shoulder and offered a hand to the red Paladin who still sat on the ground. They could go home and Lance would really be able to take a look at that wound. It seemed to be healing, but... He didn't trust it. He did hate that Keith didn't mention it, but in the same breath, why would he? It wasn't like Lance had specifically asked or something... It still ate away at him, though. Uncomfortably so. It felt nice to have a hand in his own, if only for a second; they began walking back to the house, the trek being a much quicker one because of how Lance kicked up the pace. He didn't want to waste any time. He had some minimal first-aid supplies at home, so at lease he'd be able to properly dress the damn thing. Ugh. Keith could be such a moron sometimes. Guy seriously didn't know the meaning of asking someone else for - oh what's that word - help? " Sit down, I'll be right back." His voice was stern, though it wavered still from guilt. Lance returned with some peroxide, some gauze and some tape he'd found in the bottom of the bag. Wow. Talk about luck - since when did he have this? Unfortunately, the gauze pads were the only ones in the box, so they'd have to do until tomorrow. Setting the supplies on the counter separating the living room from the kitchen, he turned to speak to Keith once more. " When did that - y'know - happen?" [googlefont=Oswald]

Burnin' Like a Flame something I can't tame Don't wanna take it slow now, you strip my gravity The concern in Lance's voice made him squirm. He really didn't like being fussed over, he'd never get used to it. His father was more of a rub some dirt on it kind of man, until he was gone too. The thing about it was he knew Lance honestly cared for him, and for some reason that knowledge burned something in him. He didn't like the guilty expression that seemed to fix itself to Lance immediately. Technically this wasn't his fault. Not really. He was just too bone-headed to explain why he wasn't feeling up for an evening swim.
Keith took the offered hand and followed the other home in more or less silence. As it dried out it stopped hurting some, though his skin felt a little tighter, but that was likely just the salt drying out his skin. Not enough for him to worry about. He frowned at the ground most of the time, it wasn't that big of a deal. It didn't need stitches, he was fine. Besides even if it hadn't closed up on it's own he was pretty sure he had fishing line back home, and plenty of sewing needles. He could have taken care of it, even if the parts wrapping around him would have been tricky.
He sat where he was told, and in many ways he felt like a little kid who hurt himself doing something he shouldn't have been doing. He had been dealing just as well as he could possibly. Annoyance and shame were at the forefront of his mind but it came out in scowling at the wound on his side. He was impatient as he waited for Lance's return, though he nearly jumped out of his skin when he did return.
"Last night." He grumbled, his face getting a little hot in embarrassment. He didn't like failing. While he wasn't necessarily opposed to admitting his faults, it still was never fun to rehash it. "Dinner fought back." He admitted, trying to sound casual but he mostly felt like he was failing at that. "I learned, some from books and some from locals, about some herbal remedies. You know, little honey, some marshmallow root and juniper. finding the stuff was surprisingly easy." He said shrugging his shoulders. "Helped a lot actually." He said. It had stung a little, but most medicines do after all. He suspected it was the juniper that created the sting but that was neither here nor there.
"Sticky though." He complained with a shrug, "but I found some leaves and cleaned them off to keep it covered." He added. It really wasn't all that big of a deal and it worked for most of his other wounds. He wasn't dead yet and that was probably his biggest accomplishment. Lance McClain ### Fun Fact. All of those things probably would help a wound heal and prevent it from coming infected. MADE BY VEL OF GS + ADOX 2.0

from here the stars are far away so we can just let go and let day fade into night Lance listened to Keith, he really did, but the concept of actually administering it all into his head was a different story. His mind was running at a thousand miles a minute, and the Blue Paladin was at quite a loss of what to do. Well - he knew what to do, but his emotions were all over the damned place. " Well of course it's gonna be sticky!" He exclaimed in exasperation, shaking his head, bringing one hand to his face while he shook his head. " I'm starting to remember why you got under my skin so much." Though the statement was dry, it was also endearing. Keith was annoying in his own way, but at the same time, he was charming and idiotically and passionately determined in the things he did. Unfortunately, that included a lack of him asking for help and instead of coming to another Link to find first aid supplies, he'd rather slather honey all over himself. Incredible. " So stubborn." He shook his head, picking up the supplies he'd gathered and moving over to Keith who had taken his place on the couch. Lance motioned for the other male to lay down, and he quickly went to work. First things first, he needed some water to flush it. Easy enough. He went to the kitchen and filled a cup with regular tap water originating from the purified water of Oasis' water tower, and a towel. The pilot returned to the injured warrior in his living room and got down upon his knees, begging to gently pour the water over the gash. He saw some of the dirty and debris make its way out, as well as the remaining... Leaves. The ocean water had done most of the work for him in that regard, but to Lance, it hadn't been good enough. Next was the peroxide, which wouldn't be too friendly. Oh well - dumb-butt deserved it for being so ridiculously "independent." He poured the cleansing substance upon the wound and watched the chemical reaction bubble and sizzle. Lance felt Keith's body tense up tightly, but he attempted not to pay too much attention to it - the thought of causing serious harm to one of his best friends really didn't make him feel too good. Lance used the towel to wipe away the excess, proceeding to dress it with the medical tape and gauze. It didn't take too long, and in about five minutes, Lance was satisfied with the result. " There," He sighed out the word, sitting on the floor to let the other move into a sitting position himself. " Next time, lemme help, okay? You're forgiven this time cuz' you didn't know I was here." Charmingly and worriedly, the tan boy smiled, bringing on his hands up to adjust some of his hair behind his ear. " Sorry... Uh- for that. By the way." Lance then averted his gaze to the side, heat pooling in his face from the embarrassment. " I didn't think I'd, well.. Y'know." [googlefont=Oswald]
